Taiko Alethia Releases Pacaya Hardfork on Mainnet after Comprehensive Examination

Taiko Alethia’s latest Pacaya Hardfork upgrade is launching following a thorough examination. The platform has reportedly conducted rigorous testing along with crucial bug fixes via the Hekla testnet. After that, the Pacaya fork is finally declared ready to be deployed on the mainnet. This requires node operators to upgrade the Alethia node application as well as Raiko instances ahead of the deployment of the fork. Otherwise, they could experience disruption in their operations afterwards.

The Pacaya Hardfork provides many notable upgrades focusing on enhancing the consumer experience. In addition to this, the development also readies the ecosystem for native reconfirmations. This feature significantly minimizes the transfer confirmation times. The respective change is not compatible with the present “contestable rollup” design, requiring a change in Taiko Alethia’s architecture. Simultaneously, Pacaya will let Taiko streamline the proving mechanism thereof, eliminating the limitations formerly experienced by the platform.

A key update included in this development is the batch-based protocol for block proposals. As a part of this model, a batch grouping of blocks is carried out in line with their shared transfer sources and metadata. This makes frequent and small blocks nearly as cost-efficient as big ones. This enables swift transfer confirmation within the exclusive based model. Moreover, this design also decreases costs and improves scalability to boost user experience.
