Bitget and Avalanche Join Hands to Expand Web3 in India

Bitget, a leading global crypto exchange, and Avalanche, the high-performance smart contracts platform, have announced a strategic collaboration focused on accelerating Web3 development across India. The partnership shows a commitment by both firms to invest in India’s fast-growing blockchain ecosystem—home to more than 1,000 Web3 startups and some of the world’s most active crypto users.

The goal is to reach more cities, engage more youth, and fund more ideas. Together, Bitget and Avalanche aim to enable local builders, students, and developers with the tools, exposure, and financial backing they need to build for the future of the internet.

A Shared Vision: Education, Access, and Opportunity

Bitget’s Blockchain4Youth program has pledged $10 million over the next five years to promote blockchain education through scholarships, hackathons, and workshops. This initiative is not only focused on India but spans across global communities, with the intent of creating a strong grassroots movement.

Avalanche, meanwhile, is deepening its involvement in India by collaborating with government bodies on social projects and offering mini-grants to developers. Its focus remains on creating a decentralized ecosystem that can support both consumer and enterprise applications.

Devika Mittal, Regional Head at Ava Labs, emphasized that India’s Web3 community is both active and ambitious.

“Our goal with events is to provide a space to any web3 enthusiast – whether in Delhi or Varanasi, or anywhere else – to connect and build.” said Mittal.

Grassroots Campaign: The ‘HODL ON’ Tour

The first step in this collaboration is already underway. The ‘HODL ON’ tour—launched jointly by Bitget and Avalanche—has already hosted successful community events in Delhi and Bangalore. These meetups serve as a space for education, collaboration, and showcasing talent. From students to startup founders, attendees are given access to real-world learning experiences and potential funding opportunities.

Jyotsna Hridyani, South Asia Head at Bitget, believes education is the foundation.

“Empowering users with the right knowledge is essential to unlocking the full potential of blockchain in India’s digital future,” Hridyani staed. “At Bitget, we’re committed to bridging this gap through community programs, partnerships with universities, and accessible learning tools.”

Why India, Why Now?

India is the world’s top country in crypto adoption and ranks second globally for the number of active Web3 developers. Its population of tech-savvy youth and the scale of its digital economy offer fertile ground for blockchain to thrive—if given the right resources.

Avalanche’s involvement with local government agencies also adds credibility and reach to the mission. Their efforts are not limited to tech circles—they aim to work on welfare projects and increase blockchain’s real-world impact in sectors that matter to the broader public.

Bitget’s role in India’s Web3 journey comes as the exchange strengthens its global footprint. In July 2024, Bitget announced it was working toward full regulatory approval in India. This move aligns with the firm’s recent success in gaining regulatory clearance in El Salvador as a digital asset service provider.

According to Bitget’s Q1 2025 transparency report, the exchange saw a 159% increase in spot trading volume, reaching $2.08 trillion. Its native Bitget Token (BGB) now ranks among the top 50 cryptocurrencies by market cap.

What Lies Ahead: A Year of Building

Both Bitget and Avalanche have committed to continuing this partnership through the end of 2025. Their combined efforts will include more workshops, more grants, and more meetups in cities across India. The aim is to nurture India’s Web3 talent pipeline and help startups gain visibility, mentorship, and funding.

The partnership also offers international exposure to Indian developers, helping them break into global markets while staying grounded in local innovation.

India currently hosts over 1,000 Web3 startups. Bitget has set a bold goal: to double that number by 2025.
